EasyAccounts - Quick Start Guide for New Users

This guide helps you get started quickly using the labelled areas in the image above
No accounting knowledge is required.

Step 1: Access Your Dashboard

After logging in, you will arrive at the Dashboard.

Use Label A in the image to identify the dashboard overview.
This area gives you a summary of your income, expenses, and recent activity.

This is the main control centre of your account.


Step 2: Set Up Your Business Details (Label B)

Go to Settings → Business.

Use Label B in the image to locate the business settings section.
Enter your business name, address, and confirm your currency is set to Naira (₦).

Your business details will appear automatically on invoices and reports.


Step 3: Create Categories (Label C)

Go to Categories.

Use Label C in the image to find the categories section.
Create categories for income (such as Sales or Services) and expenses (such as Rent, Transport, or Internet).

Categories help keep your records organised and reports accurate.


Step 4: Add Customers and Products (Label D)

Go to Sales → Customers to add your clients.
Go to Products & Services to add what you sell.

Use Label D in the image to locate customer and product management.
Adding these first makes invoicing faster and easier.


Step 5: Create Your First Invoice (Label E)

Go to Sales → Invoices.

Use Label E in the image to find the invoice section.
Create a new invoice by selecting a customer and adding products or services.

Saving or sending an invoice automatically records your income.


Step 6: Record Expenses (Label F)

Go to Purchases → Expense.

Use Label F in the image to locate expense entry.
Record business expenses as they happen and upload receipts if available.

This helps you track costs and calculate profit accurately.


Step 7: View Reports (Label G)

Go to Reports → Profit & Loss.

Use Label G in the image to access reports.
Review your income, expenses, and profit at any time.

Keeping reports up to date helps you stay tax-ready.


Optional Setup (Labels H & I)

If needed, you can also set up:

  • Tax to add VAT or other applicable taxes (Label H)

  • Payment Settings to enable Paystack, Stripe, or PayPal (Label I)

These steps are optional and can be completed later.


Best Practice for New Users

Record income and expenses regularly.
Use invoices for all sales.
Review reports weekly.
Keep records updated throughout the year.
